18th Century George III Mahogany Candle Box. The LibraryA charming George III mahogany candle box with an unusual central parquetry design. The candle box has sympathetic repairs to the top hanging point and hinges (the repair to the hinge is more evident to the interior please see photographs); the hinges themselves are later replacements. There is a wood shrinkage split to the left side panel. Overall the candle box remains very attractive with the wood boasting a wonderful patina throughout. Dimensions

The vase remains very eye catching and boasts a wonderful colour when caught by the light

9 troy ounces (370 grams) and is of large proportions

and there is also some marking in places (please see photographs)

The blue liner is absent from one of the mustard pots

There is a small chip to the left side of the pedestal and a few marks commensurate with age (please see photographs)

and delicately carved or painted to show affection

the wood has some lovely pagination to the arms and base from over one hundred years of use
