The vibrant red and white layers of the Eocene Wind River Formation have weathered into a badlands topography and the mountains in the distance are made of mid Eocene Absaroka volcanics from millions of years

The wildlife here in Wyoming are used to navigating deep snow and love to graze on the new early spring growth

They are not as fast as cheetahs

and changing in a spectacular and rare light show this far south

The Snowy Range Mountains are one of my favorite places on this Earth
