New Zealand South Island - NZSI02 rocksOn the way to one of the many glaciers on the South Island of New Zealand. The South Island of New Zealand is the larger of the two islands by surface area but is less populated. The waters around the island are the Cook Strait, Tasman sea and the Pacific Ocean. Running along the Island from North to South are the Southern Alps, home to Fox and Franz Josef glaciers and its highest peak Mount Cook.

The cliffs are also used by rock climbers and abseilers in controlled outings and group tours but walks along the tracks are equally inviting

the second largest Shire in the Southwest region and was founded in 1834

Ironstone Gully Falls are situated between Capel and Donnybrook in our state's southwest

For those lucky enough between September and December Cape Naturaliste lookouts are the perfect vantage point for whale spotting
